Celebrating the purported advent of the "national game", this elusive 1939 Baseball centennial commemorative bat harkens back to the time of Abner Doubleday. The 34”/30 oz. Diamond Club ash bat features heavy wear including a handle crack and ball marks. In order to secure the crack, a spiral pattern of black tape extends from the handle toward the center branding, which reads “Made in Cooperstown, NY, the Birthplace of Baseball; Doubleday Field”. On the knob, “30” has been stamped (likely weight) and “25” has been stamped into the top of the barrel (bat limited edition number). A solid collectible for Americana and baseball fans alike. Comes with a letter of provenance from Baseball Hall of Fame and a full photo PSA/DNA LOA that states (in part): “After a thorough examination of this commemorative bat and its player use characteristics, it is our opinion the bat is authentic as described.”
