Stars of the stage and screen shine brightly with this pairing of signed documents. Musical icon Bobby Darin (d.1973) and 4X Best Actress Oscar winner Katharine Hepburn (d.2003) delighted 20th Century audiences with their unparalleled talents. Gone to the great theater in the hereafter, but never to be forgotten these beloved stars extend a small dose of posthumous delight with this exciting duo of signed items. Individual full photo LOAs from JSA.

One of the greatest leading ladies in cinematic history, Katharine Hepburn proved both gracious and direct in providing an autograph to an adoring fan on a TLS dated "11/10/82". Typed on a crisp, clean sheet of "Katherine Houghton Hepburn" letterhead , this TLS presents NM details with deference to an unobtrusive corner crease at top right. This brief correspondence is obviously a reply to a request for a signed photo, proven by the curt answer "I am sorry but I do not send or sign photographs". Ms. Hepburn did however sign this letter with bold and stylized autograph meriting a ("9-10") rating.

The multi-talented Bobby Darin wore many hats during his much too short, but brilliant career as a singer, actor, musician, songwriter, music publisher and producer. His renditions of "Mack the Knife" and "Beyond the Sea" are eternal classics and his charismatic persona set the standard for cool in an age when the "Rat Pack" held great sway over the entertainment world. Once he became successful Darin turned his hand to music publishing and production, forming TM Music Inc. This company is listed on a pair of Chemical Bank New York Trust Company records for a safety deposit box in Darin's name. One of these records is a 5x8 rental agreement card (VG) for "Box #2031" that is signed by Darin ("9") at bottom left next to the typed date "8/16/63". This card is also stamped "Surrendered Oct 4, 1974". The other card (VG-EX) measures 4x6 and lists Darin's annual payments for the box rental fee, ending with the written entry "Break Open 35- 10/21/74" on the obverse; and the names of his lawyers and accountant on the reverse.
