"This will be found one of the most pleasing and interesting games ever introduced," concludes a remarkably intact instruction sheet on the lid's underside. Produced by the H.H. Durgin company of Boston, this compact game measures approximately 4" square and retains the playing-field insert (advertising the clothier Litchfield & Stebbins), a partial spinner top (without peg), and one of the disc-shaped pieces. (Missing a ball that is pictured in Mark Cooper's definitive guidebook Baseball Games.) Impressive VG-EX/EX condition overall.
