Championship bat collectors step to the plate for this handsome 1937 Louisville Slugger. Proclaiming the New York Yankees "World's Champions", this slick stick is one of the earliest examples in the commemorative presentation series of World Series champion bats begun in 1934. The second such H&B turned bat to honor the Yankees, this was also the last edition created in brown color. Starting in 1938 the color was changed to the more familiar black.
Considered fairly tough, this vintage 1937 model presents in handsome (EX) condition with light traces of overall wear and clearly defined gold facsimile signatures and block letter names, stretched out from mid-handle to the end of the barrel. Among the names listed are key figures Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, Tony Lazzeri, Earle Combs and Joe McCarthy (Facsimile signatures are reported as those players being under contract with H&B, while block letter names were not under contract).
