Description

Potent slugger Ken Griffey Jr., having dodged any accusations of PED use, made the Hall of Fame and is widely sought after by collectors as an alternative to other tainted "greats" of the time such as Bonds, Clemens, McGwire & Sosa. This black Louisville Slugger C271 signature model (29.9oz/33.4”) with a cupped barrel was used by Griffey Jr. and features evidence of solid wear including a slight crack on the bat handle and ball marks on all parts of the barrel. The handle has been taped in an X-shaped pattern to enhance grip and the barrel has Griffey's facsimile signature, just ot the left of which Griffey has signed in silver metallic paint pen ("7") with #24 inscription. The PSA/DNA letter states (in part): “After a thorough examination of this Ken Griffey Jr. professional model bat, it is our opinion the bat is authentic and was game used by Griffey Jr. during the referenced 1991-1997 labeling period.” A light layer of silver paint has been applied to the knob; the bat comes with a full photo LOA from PSA/DNA for game use and an Auction LOA for signature.
