Winner of three World Series championships with the Yankees during the 1920s, Benny Bengough finished up his career as a coach with the Phillies. In addition to his Major League duties at Shibe Park, it appears he also put in some community service time. Offered is a 1953 trophy clock presented to Bengough by a Philadelphia branch of the YMHA.

Mounted on a 6x4 wood base are a 2-1/2" square brass wind-up clock made by Florn and a 4" gilt baseball figure. A brass plate attached to the base in front of the clock is engraved with "For Coach Bennie Bengough In Appreciaition For His Support, Pine Street Y.M.H.A. 1953". The batting figure presents in excellent condition, while the base shows minor wear. The clock shows moderate wear, with the top segment of the frame partially detached at the left end. This clock is in working order, just wind and give it a gentle shake, and the partially detached section can easily be repaired.
